Skin Care Regime Update

Ok so my skin is finally starting to improve!! After weeks of using one brand of skin care products (aldi) and getting no results on Saturday I decided to try out somthing different!! Boots was having a 3 for 2 on skin care so I get there own brand tea tree and witch hazel face scrub, foaming wash and day and night spot stick!! And since just Saturday I already see a massive Improvement!!!
The scrub is suppose to be used once a week but I have used it every day just a little at night. I use the foam twice a day morning and night and the spot stick morning and night to!!
I am amazed and I hope its not just a fluke!!

Growing My Nails week 1

Ok Im all into nails at the moment!!! Its somthing I never imagened Id be into as Iv bitten my nails for as long as I can remember so I have never had nice nails to paint or do nail art on!
Since doing my Blixz Nail Wraps course Iv Just been mad into my nails and wearing the Blixz Nail Wraps has helped mt to nit pick or bite my nails!!
So this is pretty much week 3 of my nail growing as Iv been wearing nail wraps for the last 2 weeks (not constantly I had a 5 day gap to let my nails recover) but Im calling it week 1 because I only really decided to put effort in this week befor it was just I couldnt Bite them because they were covered!!
Im going to be taking photos of my nails every week to watch them grow I feel this will encourage me cause I can see the progress!!!
I am also going to be giving tips on nail care...things that help me and I think might help you!!

Tip 1- Always keep a nail file handy!!!
I find I bite my nails because they might have a little chip that irritates me and I want to smooth it out and I take to to far to the point where my nail is a scutt!! If you have a file handy you can file off any chips or snaggs befor you start to nibble!!! so keep I upstairs and one down stairs (if ur lazy like me)

Tip 2- This is for Blixz Nail wrap wearers
If you decide to try out Blixz Nail Wraps (and I think you totally should there awesome) here is a little bit of after care!!
When you get to the point where you want to take them off make sure you have an hour or so to give yourself (or go get) a mini manicure!! I found my nails get all peeley after I wear them!! So soak your finger nail in vitamin e oil or any nail or skin oil for a while.... wash it off... buff off the peely bits to smooth them (so you dont start picking) then buff and shine them!! Also leave at least a week befor you put new Blixz Nail Wraps on (or a few days befor painting them) as your nails havnt been getting much oxygen under the wraps so let them recover 1st!!

Models Own

I picked up my 1st 3 Models own Nail Polishes today:)
Im going to be doing a few nail courses and have spent a long time trying to decide on a polish brand that I really like and lasts long and has great color variety that I can use in my business!!
I tried the Models Own Black Magic a few months back (my sister has it) and I just thought it was amazing!! It went on brill dried super fast and lasted for days (which is a great triumph for me as nail varnish usually only lasts a day befor chipping)!!
So I decied on Models Own!!
At the moment they are 3 for 2 in Boots so I got all 3 for 15 euro which I think is good and it saved me 7.50!!!
Today I bought
Black Magic (I love black nail polish and this is a really nice one)
Magenta Pearl (a pinky purpley shimmery polish)
3 in 1 base/top coat (everyone needs a top coat)

Blixz Nail Wraps!!

Today I put Blixz Nail Wraps on myself for the 1st time!! :) It went really well better than the pair I put on my sis at the course!!! It is the second pair of Blixz Nail Wraps Iv had on in the last week and a half!! The 1st pair lasted 5 days they would have lasted longer but on the 5th day I got a little a drunk ;) and pulled them off!!
I loved wearing them (even if i didnt like the pattern that much) because they stopped me picking and biting my nails so my nails grew quite a bit in those 5 days!! I went 5 days without wearing them to air my nails and let them get back to normal but I was getting to the point where I was getting tempted to bit again so I decided Id put them on and have lovely nails for the weekend (even if Im not going out)!!
I know they are supose to last 2 weeks and Im going to do my best to make them last that long this time but to me 5 days is awesome usually nail polish only lasts a day mabey 2(if Im extra cautious)on me because Im constantly doing dishes through the day and I hav a 2 year old son so Im quite active and use my hands alot changing nappies and tidying!!
So ill be giving a proper review on them in 2 weeks hopfully not sooner to let you know how I got on and how long they lasted!!
I love them and im sur you will to!!!

Up and comming shoots!!

I am soooo excited I have an amazing shoot comming up this weekend!! We have been planning this shoot for 6 months now but it kept getting pushed back further and further but finally it it here this weekend and im just so super excited!!
I will be shooting with photographer and friend the amazing Jason McDonald I love working with Jason he is an awesome photographer and our ideas and visions for our shoots are very similar so im always delighted with what we end up wth and i love his work!!
Our model is the stunningly beautiful, alternative, spectacular Spunky Gore she is just ....words cannot describe her......amazing!!! I cant wait to work with her for the 1st but hopefully not last time!!

Blixz Nail Wraps

Yesterday I did my training for Blixz Nail Wraps in ASU in Swords!! I had such a lovely time!! The class was a small group of 9 which was great as you got alot of one to one help!! And the trainer was sooo lovely and friendly and very helpful!! It has really made me want to do more nail courses and I will definitely be going back for more courses there!!
We were all paired up and did each others nails for practice so I got a lovely set of Blixz Nails out of it!!

Callow Lily

She is one of the most amazing artist out there right now and certainly one of my favorites!!
Her work is colorful imaginative creative inspiring beautiful but also alternative gothic and unusual!!
She is also a makeup artist and an amazing one at that!!
She is currently holding a recreation competition!!
You recreate one of her looks from a selection of her pictures enter it and you can win a portrait :) this is my entry and the picture i recreated it from!!! let me know wat u think!!!

Primer Review

Ok back to normality!!!
Im gona give you a review on a few primers I have tried out over the last year the good the bad and the awful!!!

First up L'Oreal Paris Studio Secrets Smoothing Resurfacing Primer
I bought this when it first came out so it was on special offer I payed around €15 but it generally retails for around €20!!
I found it to be a very good primer it feels slightly goopy when you take it out of the tub but it has a very smooth and satiny finish on your skin!! It made my makeup last all night!!
I would definitely recommended this primer!! Its a small tub but it goes along way its worth the €20!! Its my favorite budget primer!!
I give it a 8/10

Next up we have GOSH Velvet Touch foundation primer!!
This was the 1st primer I ever used I got it as a present!
It retails for around €19!!
I thought it was wonderful back then but looking back over the different primers I have tried Its not so great!!
Its an OK primer!! It never felt satiny on my skin more crumbly!! It will make your makeup last longer than normal but not all night!!
If it was cheaper I would probably recommend it but you can get better primers for the same price!!
I give it 5/10

17 Photo Flawless Primer!!
My sister got this free when she spent over €15 on 17 products and gave it to me cause she didnt need it!!
I think it costs like €8-€10 euro (at least I hope it doesnt cost more than that)
Its the worst primer I ever used!! It feels dry and crumbly and horrible on your skin my makeup lasted for lett time than it would if I wore no primer at all!!
Dont waste your money I know its cheap but its cheap for a reason!!!

And last but certainly not least my favorite primer of all time is (drum roll)
Smashbox Photo Finnish Foundation Primer!!
I got this in sephora in NY for $49 for the Jumbo one which is 60ml and would normally retail for $72!!
In Ireland the 30ml retails for around €38!!
I know it is expensive but my god is it worth it!!!
Its soft satiny and beautiful!! You hardly need to use any at all just a pea sized amount so it lasts for ever!!
My makeup lasts all day and night if I need it to!!!
I recommend this to everyone especially professionals!!!
I dont think I will ever find a better primer but ill keep my eyes peeled and if I do ill let you know!!
I give it a 10/10

cake

Okies this is a lil different to my usual blog about makeup r training or tans!!
But I need to shar this with the world its the best vanilla/madera/white cake recipie!! great for buns or double the amount for an amazing victoria sponge!!
I baked these buns this morning half are for my Nially cause he works so hard and is baby sitting tonit while I go out!! The other half are for my friend grace as part of her bday pressie!!
hope u try them and like them as much as I do


Ingredients:
For the Cake:
1/2 cup (1 stick/4 oz./113g) unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
4 large eggs
2 cups (8 oz./225g) cake flour
2 tsp. baking powder
Pinch of salt
2 tsp. vanilla extract
4 tbsp. milk



Instructions:
For the Cake:
Preheat oven to 350°F/180°C. Butter and flour 2 round (8-inch x 1 1/2-inch deep) cake pans.
Line bottom of pans with parchment paper and butter parchment paper.

In a small bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and pinch of salt; set aside.

With electric mixer, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla;
then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. On low speed, slowly add the flour mixture.
When flour mixture has been fully incorporated, add the milk, one tablespoon at a time until mixed into batter
well.

With a rubber spatula, scrape batter into prepared cake pans and even out tops with the back of a spoon.
Bake on middle rack of preheated oven until the cakes are beginning to come away from edges of pan and a cake
tester inserted in center of cakes comes out clean, about 20 to 25 minutes. Remove cakes from oven and place pans
on wire rack for 10 minutes, then invert cakes from pans onto racks (right side up), and let cool completely,
approximately 1 hour.

or alternativly do them in bun cases and make fairy/butterfly buns or cupcakes

Skin care regime

Since I hit 15 I have had terrible skin. Oily spotty lumpy and scarred!
The only time since turning 15 that Iv had some relieve was when I was pregnant with my son!! My skin was clear and balanced not to oily not to dry with a healthy glow!!
After I had my son my skin stayed beautiful and clear for about 6 months because I breastfed my son!! But within weeks of stopping it was back to its old oily ways!!
Its bin 2 and a half years since I had Corey and Iv gotten to point where my skin is as bad as it was when I was an awkward spotty teenager and im sick of it!!
So seen as der is no way Im having another baba for like 1000 years I have decided to start up a skin care regime!!
I always start skin care regimes then I get lazy n stary sleeping in my makeup again!!
So I thought to myself if I put it on my blog and let the world see what Im doing it might give me the little push to keep it up!!
So for the last week I have been washing my face morning and night, using a tea tree spot stick, trying to eat more fruit and drink more water I will take a pic of myself makeup less (gulp) so you can all see how I look now and in a month I will put up a new pic and we can see if there are any differances!!
If my skin improves I will put up a list of what I used and what I did and mabey it will help all of you out there!!
